Press Release
For imitate Publication(Arlington Feb. 14 2006) The German World Alliance/Deutsche Weltallianz, the world's largest international human rights organization, protecting the rights of Germans, is proud to announce that the "Verband der deutschen Sozial-Kulturellen Gesellschaften" in Polen, the umbrella organization of the German ethnic group in Poland, with 10 constituent organizations and 800,000 members, has joined the GWA/DWA network.
The expansion of GWA/DWA into Poland, a country in which the German element has a long history of struggle for recognition, is a major success for the GWA/DWA and for Germans everywhere. The application by the "Verband der deutschen Sozial - Kulturellen Gesellschaften" in Polen follows the joining, in 2005, of the Deutsche Volksverband, the organization of Germans in Serbia with its headquarters in Subotica/Maria Theresiopel.
The GWA/DWA looks forward to a close and mutually supportive work with our German brothers and sisters in Poland and Serbia, concentrating on current discrimination and righting of the injustices brought about by the flight and expulsion of the vast majority of the German population from both countries during and after WWII.
The GWA/DWA is now represented in Argentina, Austria, Canada, Columbia, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland and the United States. Negotiations with German organizations in several other countries on membership in the GWA are on-going,
